Dutch Blockchain Coalition welcomes Fontys School of ICT as new knowledge partner

Fontys School of ICT is as a knowledge institute a valuable addition as a partner of the DBC. The new collaboration fits in nicely with the ambition of DBC to realise reliable, strong and socially accepted blockchain applications through partnerships with the government, knowledge institutes and business.

The new collaboration fits in nicely with the ambition of DBC to realise reliable, strong and socially accepted blockchain applications through partnerships with the government, knowledge institutes and business. 

Both organizations expect this new cooperation to impact current research and education activities positively. Erdinc Sacan, Sr. Lecturer at Fontys School of ICT: 'As a partner of the DBC we form a large knowledge network, in which we can together take social responsibility and contribute to innovations in the field of work. A learning community that allows you to keep developing'. 

Peter Verkoulen, Coalition Manager Dutch Blockchain Coalition: 'Fontys School of ICT enriches the coalition with her expansive and relevant knowledge in fields where blockchain technology is applied. We bring our knowledge and expertise together to strengthen the Netherlands' position as a knowledge society in this area. Fontys School of ICT joining as an active knowledge partner in the coalition strengthens the overall Dutch blockchain ecosystem.' 

Jeffrey Cornelissen, teacher ICT at FHICT, explains the form of cooperation Fontys provides: 'Within Fontys School of ICT we work on various projects. Our students engage with our partners to explore various applications of blockchain technology.' Topics already addressed are: WMO applications (requests for social services/support), sensory audit trails, delgate exchange and even the development of a blockchain from scratch. Students also participate in hackathons and have won several awards.
