On Friday 23 May, we were delighted to welcome a delegation of education professionals from Singapore and Brunei. The group consisted of representatives from primary schools, secondary schools and universities. Their visit is part of a two-week tour of the Netherlands, during which they will also visit schools in The Hague, Amsterdam and Tilburg.
On behalf of our institution, the guests were welcomed by Erdinç Saçan and Eric Slaats. During the visit, our guests showed great interest in our approach to open education, the way we design our laboratories, and the intensive collaboration we have with companies and start-ups. Our didactic model also attracted a lot of attention.
A particularly appreciated part of the programme was the discussion with our students. It was very important for the delegation to hear their voices, and they found this to be a very pleasant and valuable experience.
The visit was organised in collaboration with 2College in Tilburg, a secondary school that established contacts with the educational institutions in Singapore and Brunei. The delegation was visibly impressed by what they saw and hope to return in the future with a larger group to learn more about our working methods.
We look back on an inspiring day full of exchange and mutual appreciation!
